Ely win Jamboree

The Jamboree was a close fought event, the top three teams being: Ely 10 points; Linton 10 points; Cambridge 9.5 points

Ely won on tie break which was the sum of opponents' scores. We needed a ringer in Emile Kosviner; but they all count, as they say! The winning Ely team was: Richard Donaghay 3/3; Mark Szymanski 3/3; Mike Angel 1.5/3; Emile Kosviner 2.5/3

Division 1 Results

We're managing to hold our own after a couple of early disappointing results. Beating Linton, the league champions, was very heartening and a good team effort: Martyn getting the win on top board and the rest of us drawing our games. After 5 matches we're in 5th place out of 7 teams. See the Fixtures and Results page for details on the matches; and there's lots more details, league tables and individual performance on the Bury Chess League and Local Chess Grades links.
